I have always prided myself on my extraordinarily shiny hair. Strangely enough I was teased at school for it. When I was eight a rumour went around the class that I brushed my hair a 100 times a day. As a tomboy I was mortified at this false assumption.
These days though I bask in the rumours that surround my glowing hair. But all that stopped when I went blonde.
Sure, blondes have more fun, but they also have dull, flat locks. I’m now back to brunette (albeit bottle brunette), and while the locks are looking better, the shine failed to return to its former glory.
And so I’ve got into serum. Before this shine debacle I hadn’t touched the stuff, it just made my hair all greasy.
I’ve since learned that I was using way too much. I’ve been trying a few hair serums lately, and my new favourite is ghd Smooth & Finish Serum.
It’s very lightweight (providing you only use a smidgen), and gives your hair a stunning shine. It also smooths down the hair cuticle so you get less frizz. I’ve been using it on my naked hair first thing in the morning, and yesterday I tried it on my newly ironed curls, loaded up with hairspray.
The serum pushed through the dullness that the hairspray made and my curls were bouncy and shiny. A quick tip for applying a serum, squeeze the teeniest bit (and I mean teeny) onto your fingers and rub it over the palm of your hands. Now sweep your hands lightly over the top of your head and through the ends of your hair.
